Social Studies/Science:
As a spin-off of science, we are learning about Ohio’s four land regions and how the glaciers changed and shaped those regions. The glacier that entered Ohio about 24,000 years ago covered 2/3rd of Ohio. Aurora was once covered by the glacier as well. Therefore, the glacier left behind smooth rolling hills, plateaus, deposited rich soil called till, glacial kames, moraines, etc. We supported our study of glaciers with the Ice Cream Glacier Experiment. Thank you to all parents who helped make the experiment successful! If you took any pictures, please email them to me. Pictures will posted soon on the blog. We will wrap up our weathering/erosion unit this week, and a test will follow the following week. We will keep you posted on a date.
